Vista problem: Registered version expired - can't register

Post by bblake » Sat Jun 28, 2008 7:25 pm

One user had installed an early version (2.5) of the Holiday Letting System on Vista, and then tried to upgrade.
He fell foul of virtualisation. Vista had put some of the programs into a virtual folder (this is a security measure) and some old modules were being executed instead of the new ones. The symptom was a message saying "Evaluation Version expired" but when the Configuration Program ran it was the old version V2.5 (it should now be V3.1).

The best solution is to delete the virtual program files folder for ErwWen, and then reinstall if necessary. This folder is normally found here: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\LetSys It should not exist - delete it.
An alternative solution is to navigate to the correct program file, and run the configuration program directly from there.
This location is normally C:\Program Files\ErwWen\LetSys\ - run config.exe and choose to run as an administrator.

The first version of the Holiday Letting System to be supported on Vista was Version 2.6. We are not aware of problems upgrading from this version.
